ACNJ's 2nd annual school breakfast report release

On Oct. 2, 2012, Advocates for Children of New Jersey released its 2nd annual school breakfast report. The good news: 29,000 more children are now receiving school breakfast on any given day -- a 21 percent increase since October 2010. The bad news: Despite the progress, only 35 percent of eligible NJ students are getting breakfast.

We held the event at East Side High School in Newark, where every student eats breakfast in the classroom before beginning their school day. That's the best way to deliver a healthy morning meal to students so they can focus and succeed in school. We have a long way to go...hear what some state leaders have to say in this video.
