NJ
·
Sign up at www.makekidscountnj.org. You'll also receive
informative updates, reports and a direct advocacy line to influence
politicians.
·
Once signed on, be sure to respond to calls
for action by emailing candidates, legislators or newspapers. All it takes is a simple click. So far,
hundreds of online supporters have sent emails to our state leaders and
policy makers. All those emails get attention, as we have heard back from
lawmakers and both gubernatorial candidates on these issues!
·
Circulate our emails to your friends, family
and colleagues. Encourage them to join the campaign.
·
Bring the message to the folks in your
backyard. Contact your local PTAs, service clubs, businesses and other
community groups. Ask them to spread the word about Make Kids Count.
(Postcards and other written materials are available).
·
Sign
on as an organization. Several large NJ organizations have joined the
campaign, including the Office of the Child Advocate and Foster and
Adoptive Family Services. Simply email spoole@acnj.org. As
an organizational sponsor, you'll be included in press materials, listed on
our Make Kids Count website and included in other information
created to promote the campaign.
·
Distribute materials at conferences and
community events. Ask people to join Make Kids Count NJ. Click
here to download a petition.
·
Write a letter to the editor about the
campaign and kids' issues. We will be posting a sample letter soon. So keep
